So I've done it, let go. It's weird actually, had read up a bit and had been forewarned that during the last month, you would find plenty of reasons to want to hang on because you feel so needed. However, as a senior pointed out some time ago, no one is indispensable to an organisation.
I didn't know how quickly my leaving would spread throughout the organisation. Don't tend to think of myself as a natural topic for conversation, but perhaps it was accentuated by the fact, as one of my friends said, that "you don't look like the sort whom I thought would leave".
What lies ahead, I'm not that certain. It's definitely outside of the comfort zone I have formed here. But I do know that it will be challenging, interesting and life-changing.
