kyoto = love
I miss Kyoto already,although I have only been in Tokyo for a few hours. Arriving in Tokyo via Nozomi shinkansen, getting off at Shinagawa onto the Yamanote sen, to Shinjuku which is packed full of people; too crowded, warm, tiring.
I miss the machiya, and Senpai's interesting hanashi, and having my own space to wander around and not care about the intrusive presence of strangers. Ofuro time while gazing into the zen rock garden.
I miss C already, although we had lunch together just today.
I live in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Tokyo, but in one of the dingiest houses in that neighborhood.. never trust pictures on the websites for gaijin housing!! Unreliable internet connection too.
25 days and counting down to my return to my earthy, vibrant, occasionally unlovely but still homey Kansai.
